One of the things we like to do in the middle ESOL group is to have someone describe a picture so we can draw it. Today Michael led the activity. We drew really good pictures. We talked to our buddy about the pictures then recorded. We are proud of what we have done.
Here are two book responses from things we have read recently.
The first is a response to Shimbir by Alan Blagnall.
We read about a girl’s first day in an English-medium school.
We thought about our first day at Hokowhitu School and what it felt like to not speak the language. We talked about the process we went through to learn English.
The second response is about Lost in the Forest by Beverley Randell.
In this story Big Dinosaur tries, and fails, to catch and eat Little Dinosaur.
We thought about how Big Dinosaur could catch Little Dinosaur.
