Today we talked about what we enjoyed in ESOL this year. After that we ate Japanese snacks and got our end-of-year presents.

Even though we have had a small group this year, we have enjoyed ourselves and learnt lots.

As one of the Reading Recovery children had read The Flying Fish today, he came to the ESOL class to learn how to make the koi kites. One of the ESOL buddies listened to him read then taught him how to make the fish. They had fun together.

Over the last few weeks we have been playing Castle Explorer. We have learnt about castle life and how to read to find information.
The game was illustrated by Stephen Biesty and has 3D rooms with live-action actors in it. We were able to use the book it is based on to answer some of the questions.
